11/27/2001 - I have decided on a completely different site design, after much turmoil. I originally planned to have a lot of graphics (I did not think it was much at the time,) but gradually noticed that I was far exceeding the ten second rule (downloads in ten seconds, or the average surfer just leavesl; on a 14.4 kbps modem ten seconds is near 50kb.) So I stored the images I created (in case I want them later,) and started to do some nice javascript. I then realized (about half-way through this time) that if someone had java disabled, they might be pretty upset to find that the dropdown menus did not drop down.
Considering all of these things, I decided upon an entirely different form from either of the two I had carefully planned out before. Very simple, lots of room in the middle for content, lots of referenced images (uses the cache to speed things up,) and quick loading time. Now I just have to make the third draft website. (Hopefully a final draft.)
Oh! I also found a temporary solution to my current problems with graphics editing involving more than Paint. (Knowing myself as well as I do, I probably shall not create more than a temporary solution until I HAVE to... in about two weeks.)
